Rippa Media is an independent publisher focused on creating books people genuinely enjoy reading.
We publish across a range of fiction and nonfiction genres, with an emphasis on strong ideas, engaging stories, clear writing and a great reader experience.
Submissions Are Currently Closed
Rippa Media is not currently accepting unsolicited manuscript submissions.
We’re concentrating on our existing authors, books and publishing schedule and aren’t reviewing new manuscripts, proposals or pitches at this time.
Please don’t send manuscripts through our general contact form or email. Unfortunately, material submitted while submissions are closed will not be reviewed.
When Submissions Reopen
We expect to consider opening Rippa Media to selected new authors in the future.
When we do, we’ll publish our submission guidelines on this page, including the genres we’re looking for, what to send and how the submission process works.
There is no need to contact us in advance or ask to be added to a submission list. If submissions reopen, everything you need will be available here.
What Does Rippa Media Look For?
Although submissions are currently closed, our publishing philosophy is fairly simple.
We publish for readers.
We’re interested in books with a clear reason to keep turning the pages. That might come from an irresistible story, memorable characters, fascinating subject matter, humour, suspense, emotion or simply an idea we haven’t encountered before.
We value writing that communicates rather than performs.
We don’t believe readers should have to work unnecessarily hard to understand a book. Complexity is welcome when the story or subject requires it. Confusion isn’t.
For fiction, we want the prose to let the characters and story take centre stage.
For nonfiction, we prefer useful or interesting ideas communicated clearly, engagingly and without unnecessary padding.
Most importantly, we want books we’d happily recommend to somebody else.
Independent Publishing. Deliberately.
Being independent allows Rippa Media to make publishing decisions based on individual books rather than filling predetermined slots on a corporate publishing calendar.
It also means we keep our publishing list intentionally manageable.
When we eventually accept submissions, we would rather take on a small number of books we genuinely believe in than accumulate a large catalogue simply for the sake of having one.
